Photoshoot for Album Cover/Magazine

In order to create my Digipak and Magazine Advert , I had to do a photoshoot of Lizzie, my performer. I used the green screen as well as taking some in front of the graffiti wall to create synergy with the video. Here are some shots that I took. I finally decided to use the fourth one for my music video as it looks edgy and 'nasty' and fits with the video.

Photoshoot!

Recently we had a photographer come into school in order to take new prospectus photos, here are the ones from media:

Harry Potter Studios

Last Wednesday we went to the Harry Potter Studios in Watford for a lesson about camera shots and angles and then a tour of the sets.

In the lesson we learnt about how different types of shots can affect how the audience view the film as well as seeing lots of different props, unavailable to the general public, such as Hagrid's trousers!

Here is a slideshow of the pictures I took:

Feedback

Today we Skyped Terry Hall,  a music video director, who gave us some feedback on our music video rough cuts. Here is the feedback that he gave me:

  • Visual style and tone the same
  • No street shots
  • More angles- Close ups, mouth shots, wide shot, side shot etc
  • All black and white?
  • Layered images of Lizzie (3x)
  • Each angle on a different layer of FinalCut
  • OTT as possible with movements/dancing when filming
  • Short shots to punctuate rhythm and certain words
  • Blending modes- Flick between lines on the green screen
  • More text
  • Different graffiti wall with uptown funk angle
  • Faster paced shots
  • Start at black and white shots for first verse then to graffiti wall, then a mixture for the last verse.
Terry also provided me with some reference links for some ideas for my video such as:
"This Rihanna video is a really good reference if you are thinking of going down the black and white route plus it's interesting to look at how they have layered the type and graphics over the top":

"The way this was edited and all of the picture in picture stuff was maybe another good reference. Look at all the additional little dance moves that Beyonce does, even all the little hand gestures and head movements":
