More Drop It Like Its Hot...

Today we filmed more of our Lip Sync task- We filmed the close ups of Pharell (Me) and the shots with both Snoop Dogg (Priya) and Pharell (Me)- this was done quickly and easily as Shona acted as director and helped us with what to do.

Starting To Film The LipSync Video

We have now started to film our Lip Sync task, however we have found some problems and are trying to overcome them. These include:

• The green screen is not large/wide enough for the wide shots (whole body)
• We are still learning how to use Final Cut Express, and are struggling with the new software.

We have tried to extend the green screen by pinning it to the notice boards and we are working on the editing slowly, learning as we go.

We have filmed the close ups of Priya (Snoop Dogg) and the close ups of the glass with the ice cubes however still need to do the rest as the green screen took rather a long time to get up!

I have written these out in order to make it easier whilst filming. For example we can film all the Close-Ups of Snoop Dogg (Priya) all in one go.

Our Inspiration...

We got our inspiration for our Lip Sync task from the music video 'Bound 3' ( A parody of Kanye West's Bound 2)- as they showed the two videos side by side- recreating the real video shot for shot! This was created by Seth Rogan and James Franco. You can really see the amount of attention they paid to each shot as they all match exactly...hopefully our prelim task will be of this standard!! :)

Lip Sync Task Storyboard

Here is the storyboard from 'Drop It Like It's Hot' by Snoop Dogg ft. Pharell. We have also written the timings of each shot so that ours can match exactly. We will be using the green screen in order to create the white background as well as using a black and white effect to that we can match the video.

Welcome & Choosing a LipSync Prelim Task Video

Firstly- WELCOME TO MY NEW A2 BLOG!!!  :)

In todays lesson we decided on a song for our LipSync task. We had 3 options which were:

#SELFIE- The Chainsmokers

Money On My Mind- Sam Smith

Drop It Like It's Hot- Snoop Dogg Ft. Pharell

Eventually we chose the last song (Drop It Like It's Hot) because there were lots of different shots (Close Ups, Mid shots, Long Shots). As well as meaning that we could practise our use of Green Screen.
